The great thing about the George Townhouse is there’s plenty of food on offer throughout the day, with lots of different places to enjoy it. As well as the menus shown above, we also have daily, freshly prepared specials too. Our head chef makes sure all ingredients are locally sourced where possible.

The Snug and Parlour are great for a quick bite to eat. The Garden room looks out onto our patio area and when the weather permits, we have the doors open to bring the outdoors in. The Pantry is our restaurant area, ideal for an evening meal.

Our carefully selected bar range has a wide variety of high quality drinks to suit all tastes. We have spirits, beers and wines from all over the world, as well as locally made beer and spirits.

The beer range includes Brakspear Gravity and Brakspear Oxford Gold. These two Brakspear classics are brewed at the Wychwood Brewery in Witney, only a 40 minute drive from Shipston on Stour, en route to Oxford.

Don’t forget to try our delicious Cotswolds Gin and Tonic, made with a locally distilled award-winning dry gin from the Cotswolds Distillery. The Cotswolds Gin is served with Double Dutch tonic, plenty of ice, and a wedge of pink grapefruit or home-grown lavender. The Cotswold Distillery is only 5 miles away from the George Townhouse so make sure you sample this local delight.

We have a variety of unique and interesting wines from around the world, all of which have been hand-selected for you to enjoy. Our wine list include a delicious Sancerre Les Boffants from the Loire Valley, as well as a beautifully crisp Viognier from France. Alongside this you can find our beefy Argentinian Malbec, the perfect match to steak. Or if you’re looking for the classics, the Château Batailley is utterly memorable and moreish, and you can always share our La Réserve de Leoville Barton with a group of friends.
